An expansion draft and the annual NBA draft are different stories. This desk follows how a new team could assemble its roster.
Future coverage will link applicable league rules. Our launch sources do not set player protections, eligibility, dates or a Vegas roster.
Past expansion rules must be dated and cannot be assumed to govern a future draft.
Any future mock roster will identify assumptions and roster date. No simulation or player-selection tool is published yet.
